25 years of trying

We've been where you are. For a long time.

We've been running MOUVE by Dancing with Louise for 25 years — a children's dance school and ladies' fitness studio across North London. 590+ students, 17 staff, 6 locations.

Over those 25 years, we've had multiple websites. Multiple iterations. WordPress sites, templates, bespoke builds. We've paid between £1,500 and £8,000 for “fully optimised” website solutions from multiple agencies.

What we got, every time, was another template and a pretty-looking website.

It had lots of information for existing parents. It showed what we did to anyone who visited. But it never actually drove new families to find us or book through it. Occasionally a handful — but nothing consistent, nothing we could rely on.

We fine-tuned our paid marketing instead. Facebook ads, Google Ads, Meta campaigns — we got good at it. Around 200–250 trial bookings a month. But almost none came from the website itself. It didn't make sense.

The worry: if we stopped paying, we stopped getting found.

So we turned our attention to the website. We rebuilt it ourselves from the ground up with a single purpose: converting new customers. New customers are the lifeblood of any dance school — and we were tired of relentlessly posting on Instagram and Facebook, trying to think of new and exciting things to post every week.

Why we do this

We don't want to gatekeep.

We know how hard it is to run a dance school. We've spent 25 years listening to experts, coaches, fads, and well-meaning advice from Facebook groups. Most of it doesn't work. The stuff that does work, nobody shares.

We want other schools to benefit from the knowledge and experience we've gained — not by selling a course on how to do it yourself, but by building it for you, the way we built it for ourselves.
